TikTok users are divided after a groom sprayed some champagne a little exuberantly during his weddin

TikTok users are divided after a groom sprayed some champagne a little exuberantly during his wedding reception in Italy.

Cole Hennessey posted a now-deleted video on the social media platform earlier this week of him spraying champagne all over his bride during their wedding reception in Lake Como at a venue that's priced around $172,000 to $227,000 per weekend for those wishing to tie the knot with friends.

His bride, Kristal Kim, did not appear to be angry, but she began turning around almost immediately after the champagne spraying started.

Hennessey's sister Emma Roys (@emmyhennyyy) posted the video on her TikTok this morning, and it has already received more than one million views.

TikTokers can hear wedding guests in Roys' video telling Hennessey not to spray Kim, but he continued to do so while the bride 'handled that with grace.'

It is unclear how long Kim and Hennessey have been together before their wedding, but his bride-to-be first appeared in a photo on his Instagram in 2016.

Roys posted an Instagram video that showed Kim's father walking her down the aisle and holding an umbrella over her head when it began to rain.

Despite the rain, the ceremony was seemingly a success at the Relais Villa Regina Teodolinda, which is located in Laglio.

'The loveliness of the place and the nobleness of the building itself have always made the Relais a magic place,' read the venue description on ExclusiveItalyWeddings.com.

Hennessey and Kim's wedding appeared to be just as magical despite him purposely spraying her with champagne.

He then walked over to her and began dumping the champagne in her mouth.

It didn't take long for Kim to unintentionally spit it out, and after a wedding guest suggested that the bride 'spray Cole,' she began to do so without his objection, evening the score.

Wedding expert Muriel Saldalamacchia ranked the Relais Villa Regina Teodolinda in her top 10 preferred Lake Como wedding venues in September 2023.

She also wrote that it was once the home of Teodolinda - an Italian queen consort of the Lombards and of Italy from 589 to 616.

Saldalamacchia wrote that it was a great venue overlooking Lake Como and that it's also famous for its food and dedicated staff.

'You’ll find six spacious suites to accommodate your guests. All of them are bright and airy, with sophisticated décor,' she wrote.

'Through their windows, you can appreciate the glistening waters of Lake Como or the property’s gardens.'

Anyone looking to get married at the venue can do so if they're willing to pay around $172,000 to $227,000, according to The International Wedding Planner.

Despite the beautiful wedding and its unique history, TikTokers who commented on Roys' video could not stop writing about the groom's champagne spraying.

'She took it like a champ. Respect to her, but that guy is something else. Why would you do that?' a TikToker asked in his comment.

'It looks like he was just too excited. I’d be a little upset, but at least he gave her a chance to get him back lol,' another person wrote.

Others have stuck up for the groom, and one person believed that there was 'no malice intended.'

'The worst you can say is he plays too much but this isn’t a bad guy... Just a man super happy to be married,' a commenter wrote.

One woman wrote earlier this afternoon, 'At least he listened when he heard the no, and seemed to do his best to self-correct. Listening, and learning, and doing better is a green flag.'
